Programme - Abacus Training Programme

The abacus, also called a counting frame,  An abacus is a manual aid to calculating that consists of beads or disks that can be moved up and down on a series of sticks or strings within a usually wooden frame. The design of an abacus varies, depending on the region of the world it is from. The abacus itself doesn't calculate; it's simply a device for helping a human being to calculate by remembering what has been counted

Abacus is a scientifically developed & proven program that improves the child’s memory, concentration, observation, judgment, visualization, imaginative & creative thinking, logical, analytical & reasoning ability. This is a complete brain development program. This program helps develop a special skill called Mental Airthematic-An ability to do Airthematic calculations like Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication & Division in the mind without the use of any physical calculating device like Calculator, Abacus etc.

Programme Enhances

Abacus education enhances progress in various abilities. Research on neuroscience has proved that abacus training helps in improving following features in children.

In Abacus education, concentration increases through the training of finger movements. In this process beads on abacus are moved by specific finger technique. In the large digit problem solving fingers move rapidly and mental calculation in the right brain worked out simultaneously and not a single mistake can be executed. In abacus training, for every problem, there is time limit and within short time solve large digit problems. This requires great amount of concentration.

Inspiration, such as problem solving and new creation, is said to come from the right brain. The brainpower that enhances the shortest route for the thought process needed for problem solving is also developed through this programme. In addition, researcher at Osaka Prefecture University emphasizes that the training of finger movements encourages synapses to be entangled with each other and constructs neuron networks which leads to the better brain function. Inspiration creates new concepts and is very important for new inventions. Einstein used his right brain to think such new concepts and create new theories like relativity theory and equation for speed of the light.

Mental calculations are generally classified into two groups. One is the standard mathematics that uses the left-brain. Other is abacus method of calculation that uses the right brain to memorize the whole pattern of answers processed. In this method the calculation process is stored in the long-term memory as intuitive images. This type of brainpower is acquired through mental calculation training. Abacus training at early age is more effective as during this time the maximum development of brain takes place.

The ability to observe attentively is greatly improved through Soroban training. You can learn to observe numbers attentively by training and  can carefully monitor them. No mistakes are excused in this process. You are considered successful when you are able to discover the workings of numbers. This practice leads to the ability to analyze various aspects with the use of numbers.

Information Processing

A tremendous amount of information is available nowadays. The ability to rapidly process necessary information is one of the most important abilities in the twenty-first century. Training for information processing with numbers is realized through the Soroban method of mental calculation. Numbers are read rapidly without any mistake and are processed in the right brain. The information is then converted to accurate numerical data.

Speed Reading and listening

There is a training component called mental calculation of figures read out aloud. In this training, a problem is read out aloud while the student promptly comprehends and mentally processes it. It may seem like an outdated way of learning, but it actually trains the brainpower of listening attentively, or speed listening.

Course Information

Children of the age group 4-14 are eligible to join our course. The course is divided in 8 stages to master this program. Each stage is for 3 months during which the children will have to attend 12 classes. Classes are conducted once in a week for 2 hours.
After every stage there will be an assessment. On completion of the assessment successfully, the student gets promoted to the next stage. Certificates are given after successful completion of each stage.
